Michelle McCarty

Program Manager

Michelle McCarty joined COPE Health Solutions as a Program Manager at Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital. As a Program Manager, Ms. McCarty is responsible for overseeing and expanding the newly launched COPE Health Scholars program at Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital in the California Central Coast area. In her role, she oversees daily operations, trains and mentors Health Scholars, and is responsible for the growth and expansion of the Health Scholar Program. She has experience in education, marketing, and forming community partnerships.

Prior to joining COPE Health Solutions, Ms. McCarty owned a business in a small California town, while teaching Spanish and Parenting Classes for Adult Education and producing a radio show called Mariposa READ for her town’s literacy program. She has done extensive advocacy work in her previous role as a home-based social worker, as well as her time working with foster youth. Her passion for education and mentorship is what drew her to join the COPE Health Solutions team as a Program Manager.

Ms. McCarty graduated from the University of Utah with a bachelor’s in Spanish with an emphasis in teaching. She earned her AA in Communication Arts from Shasta Community College. Aside from being bilingual in Spanish, she has studied French, Russian, Irish, and trained as a Vietnamese linguist in the U.S. Army at DLI in Monterey, CA.

Ms. McCarty looks forward to creating valuable, hands-on clinical opportunities for future health care professionals in Monterey County. She believes her role will allow her to make a lasting impact on the program participants by leading them in their professional development and enhancing their leadership skills.
