Physician compensation: For groups with employed providers in traditional, fee-for-service (FFS) models, where total compensation is typically driven by RVUs and a small quality component, our teams provide expert guidance, tools and models to create a glidepath to help transition towards a compensation structure better aligned to VBP arrangements.
In a recent engagement with a mid-sized CIN, we developed a new compensation model that incentivizes physicians to optimize the health of their patients over time, promotes a team-based continuity of care delivery model and supports necessary office workflow changes, while allowing for a 2-year ‘transition period,’ for offices to engage in team-based transformative care. These improvements in turn open access for new patients and those who need timely face-to-face care. Through this new model, physicians will benefit from incentives which support team-based care, reward non-patient facing activity and increase the focus on managing overall health.
